American Mountain-ash

Mid-Atlantic bloom time: June - July
Mid-Atlantic fruit ripe: September - October

American Mountain-ash can be found in the higher elevations of the mid-Atlantic area and further north as either coarse shrubs or trees up to 15m high. Its white flowers are borne in flat compound cymes 6–20cm across. In autumn, it forms red berry-like pomes that persist through winter.
