Mid-Atlantic bloom time: May - July
Mid-Atlantic fruit ripe: August - September

Lizard's Tail is readily identified by its heart-shaped leaves and by its drooping white-green flowering heads, said to resemble some fanciful lizard's tail. It is a perennial, usually found in swamps and other wet areas, especially those that are seasonally flooded.
