Striped Wintergreen, Spotted Wintergreen, Striped Prince's Pine

[ click on any image below to see larger version ]

Family: Pyrolaceae

Mid-Atlantic bloom time: May - July

Mid-Atlantic fruit ripe: July - October

Striped Wintergreen's green leaves may be either striped or spotted, hence the ambiguity in its common name. The leaves and growth habit slightly resemble true Wintergreen, but it's not in the same family and doesn't have true Wintergreen's distinctive odor.
